The fruit of a loving and meticulous restoration of an eighteenth-century farming hamlet in the lush heart of the Montefeltro area of the Marche region of central Italy, the Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is set in a nature reserve just 10 km (six miles) from Urbino, the home town of the Renaissance painter Raphael. The area is just 20 km (12 miles) from Fano on the Adriatic coast: southwards are the beach resorts of the Riviera del Conero, such as Recanati; northwards, we come to Riccione, Rimini, and Cattolica.
