Iberostar Waves Quetzal is a luxury all-inclusive resort located on the first line of a white sand beach that offers 700 guest rooms distributed in three-story Mayan-inspired architectural style buildings. Accommodations are equipped with terrace, telephone, cable TV, air conditioning, ceiling fan, coffeemaker, in-room safe, and private bathroom with shower. The resort offers a daily program activities, nightlife, and numerous sports, such as tennis, windsurfing, and catamaran rides. The hotel has four pools, a fitness center, a full Spa, and conference facilities, as well as wedding planning service and support for all types of events. Children will have lots of fun with Star Camp activities, on the playground, and the slides at the pool. In addition, with the all-inclusive plan, you can enjoy any of the two main restaurants, five specialty restaurants, grill-style restaurants, and bars. ***The reservation holder must show an official photo ID. ***The local government has a mandatory tax per room, per night, payable directly at the property: 1 guest: $35.19 MXN, 2 guests: $58.65 MXN, 3 guests: $76.25 MXN and 4 or more guests: $87.98 MXN. ***As of April 01, 2026, it will be mandatory to show the CURP at check-in for all guests with Mexican nationality. ***Before your trip, please check with the national government the entry and stay requirements of the country you are visiting. Keep in mind that it is the traveler's responsibility to meet the rules and regulations established by the destination country. ***Baby Policy: *Infants (0—2.99 years old): they do not affect maximum occupancy and stay for free; however, the minimum contractual occupancy rate for the room will always be charged. *Cribs: subject to availability. It is mandatory to notify the hotel's Reservations Department in advance in writing. ***Honeymoon benefits: Celebrate love with our exclusive benefits for newlyweds: bottle of sparkling wine and special Iberostar amenity; 10% discount on Spa services (prior reservation required; cannot be combined with other offers); room upgrade to the next available category (subject to availability); and daily discovery service (turndown service). *Requirement: Guests must present a marriage certificate (valid within 6 months of the wedding) upon check-in. ***Groups: a group is defined as a minimum of 10 rooms or 20 passengers. All groups are subject to request and require a specific contract. *Reservations: any reservation of 10 or more rooms will be treated as a group, so specific terms and cancellation policies for groups will apply. ***Student Group Policy: student and youth groups are considered by the hotel to be any guest between 16 and 23 years of age traveling together. *Requests from student and youth groups will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require prior approval by the hotel before being confirmed. *The minimum age to check in at hotels is 18 years of age. *To make the check-in , at least one adult aged 25 or over is required per room, who will assume full responsibility for the behavior of the students; this companion must be the parent or legal guardian or, in the case of a third party, must submit legal documentation duly signed by the parents or legal guardians. *In the event that any guest behaves inappropriately, disrespects the hotel staff and/or other guests, or causes physical damage to the facilities, the Hotel Management reserves the right to expel such guest without refund or return of the remaining nights. In addition, you must cover expenses for physical damage to facilities, staff and/or guests. *Access to the hotel's nightclub is available for guests over 18 years of age. *The legal drinking age in Mexico, Jamaica, Brazil and the Dominican Republic is 18. Alcoholic beverages are available to all guests over 18 years of age. ***Individual and group student bookings will be subject to the following conditions: *Individual and group reservations must leave a refundable deposit of $200.00 USD per room upon check-in for any charges, damages, unpaid expenses, losses or penalties that customers incur or are responsible for during their stay. If the damages exceed the deposit of $200.00 USD per room, the full amount of the damage will be charged to the guest's room and will be paid upon departure. If no damage is incurred, the deposit will be refunded to the customer. *Underage Policy: All customers under 18 will receive a bracelet in an easily identifiable color. In the event of damage, alteration or misuse of said bracelet, the guardian responsible for the minor must pay a fine of $450.00 USD or its equivalent in the national currency at the current exchange rate. The hotel management reserves the right to expel any guest who alters or violates Iberostar Hotels and Resorts policies without a refund or return of the remaining nights, or to call local authorities if necessary. ***Spring Break Policy: in order to maintain a family atmosphere, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts does not accept anyone who is part of a spring break group (neither group nor individual) at any property and during any time of the year. Spring break vacations are defined as those granted from high school to college-age individuals who make reservations together either as individual or group bookings. Groups without parents or companions over 25 years of age are not allowed. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to deny check-in to any group or individual that can be defined as part of a Spring Break group. This policy is subject to change without notice. Iberostar Hotels and Resorts may also add additional restrictions based on hotel occupancy or season levels, and the hotel chain may impose additional criteria based on the hotel's operating limitations.
