What to bring by season

Dry season (May to September): the summer months are the driest in Tijuana, with little or no rain. Daytime temperatures can reach 29 or 30 °C (84.2 or 86°F) but it feels hotter, especially if the air current of Santa Ana brings warm winds from the interior of the country. Nights are cooler and dryer with temperatures between 13 and 18 °C (55.4 to 64.4 °F), so it is a good idea to bring a sweater or light jacket. You should bring a hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, sunscreen, light clothing to use during the day, and comfortable shoes.

Rainy season (October to April):December and January are the coldest months with an average temperature of 14 ºC (57.2 °F). During the day the temperature oscillates between 21 and 25 °C (69.8 °F to 77 °F) while nights are colder, dropping to 7 °C (44.6 °F) or less. You should bring a cap or hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, sunscreen, light clothing to use during the day, and comfortable shoes. You should also bring warm clothes to use at night, including pants and closed toe shoes.

Useful Tips

  • Days are usually warm and dry. Do not forget to pack light clothing and wear a cap and sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun rays.
  • Evenings and nights are cool in Tijuana, and very cold in winter, so we recommend bringing warm clothing and closed toe shoes.
